This is an exciting opportunity to join the team that provides crucial intelligence support to the Environment Agency. Acting as a key point of contact between the Intelligence Department, and staff based on the ground, you will actively promote the use of Intelligence as an essential and integral part of the prevention and prosecution of waste and other environmental crime. You will access a range of internal and partner systems to develop quality and timely intelligence products, working alongside other law enforcement agencies including the Police, HMRC and DVSA. You will be supported by Intelligence Research Officers, Field Intelligence officers and Crime Analysts in your development of intelligence. You will also play a pivotal role in the management of the Environment Agencies Intelligence data base.
The team
We are proud of our diverse and professional team, together we have a wide range of professional backgrounds. The department is split across three geographical Area teams, supported by a team leader and senior Intelligence officer.
Supporting one another, quality improvement, and producing quality and timely intelligence products comes second nature to the team, but we are all focused on one common goal; to ensure that tackling Waste and other Environment crime is Intelligence led.
Experience/skills required
You do not have to have Police back ground to join our team, but it will be important that you have experience in managing intelligence from a regulated/ enforcement environment. You’ll draw upon a number of skills and personal characteristics-
