Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes lobbies for Toronto Raptors to play in Kansas City next season

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes thinks it’s time for an NBA team to come to Kansas City, and next season there’s possibly a way to make that happen.

The Toronto Raptors are the only NBA team that doesn’t make its home in the United States. With travel from the U.S. to Canada coming to a grinding halt because of COVID-19, the Raptors are scrambling to find an alternative home for the upcoming season. A report surfaced that one of the places being considered is Louisville, Kentucky, at the KFC Yum! Center.

In addition to an incredible group of sports fans, Kansas City boasts an NBA quality arena at T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center). It’s a regular host for Big 12 and NCAA basketball events.

Mahomes isn’t the only one with this idea in mind, either. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas was quick to let Twitter users know that he’s in favor of the suggestion.
