Billie Jean King, Chris Fowler and more react to Novak Djokovic hitting line judge, defaulting at U.S. Open

Novak Djokovic was undefeated and hungry for his 18th Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open, but a rare disqualification took that all away.

The World’s No. 1 tennis player inadvertently hit a line judge in frustration after losing a game in the first set. Trailing 6-5 in the first set to opponent Pablo Carreno Busta, here’s the scene where Djokovic lost his cool while switching sides.

Djokovic took to Instagram to issue an apology for the incident.

But rules are rules. And that’s what tennis legend Billie Jean King made sure to point out.

In a blink of an eye, the tournament landscape was significantly altered.
