Samsung shows off its foldable prototype at IMID 2021, with a double-folding screen that folds in and out like an ‘S’ curve Samsung has just unleashed its new Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones, but at the same time the South Korean giant has teased its prototype double-folding Galaxy Fold This prototype device features a 7.2-inch multi-foldable screen that has three sections and two folding points. It can fold inwards and outwards like an “S” curve and can be used in any form factor. It’s a compact device when fully folded, but can be opened up to a large screen for easy split-screen multitasking. There is also a triple camera setup on the left corner, but that is likely just for show as the device means to showcase the display only. However, the video below doesn’t show those two hinges in action, instead focusing on a demo of the kind of functionality users can expect across the 7.2-inch OLED folded-out screen. The three distinct display areas can of course be used as one big screen when folded out, or can be split into zones for multitasking. Samsung is, however, working on several folding phone ideas but a commercial device is most likely going to look different.
