Soon the dream of flying your car in the air instead of running on the road will come true.
A company has completed a successful test flight of its prototype flying car between two cities in the European country of Slovakia.
The Ken Vision Air Car was able to fly for 35 minutes between Bratislava and Nitra, the capital of Slovakia.
The aircar has a 160 horsepower BMW engine and is also equipped with a fixed propeller.
In less than 3 minutes, an air car transforms from an airplane into a ground vehicle.
According to the company, the prototype vehicle has so far completed more than 40 hours of test flights.
The vehicle has flown at an altitude of 8200 feet and can fly at a maximum speed of 118 miles per hour.
After flying in Slovakia, it landed on the ground, turned into a car and traveled to the city center.
Stephen Klein, CEO of the company, said that the air car is no longer just a concept, it has changed from science fiction to reality.
The company is working on an Aircar Prototype 2 with a 300-horsepower engine that will be able to travel up to 621 miles at 186 miles per hour.
The company is planning to manufacture 3 and 4 seater models of the Aircar.
Several companies are working on the development of flying vehicles but have not been able to go beyond the concept or prototype.
Even if a company succeeds in developing a flying commercial vehicle, it may take several years for its regulatory approval.
