Everything that happened on Night 1 of WrestleMania 36

WrestleMania 36 was supposed to be staged in front of more than 70,000 fans inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, WWE’s biggest show of the year was moved to its Performance Center in Orlando to be held without an audience.

WWE’s biggest stars will wrestle their biggest matches of the year at the most unique pay-per-view the company has ever held, but the WrestleMania card is stacked with major championship matches.

Here’s the results and a recap from each match from Night 1 of WrestleMania.

Cesaro defeated Drew Gulak by pinfall

Gulak tried to wear down Cesaro’s arm, but the Swiss Superman finished off Gulak with an impressive gravity-defying airplane spin, or “UFO.”

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defeat Asuka and Kairi Sane to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions

The champions remained in control for much of the first half of the match, ganging up as a team on Bliss and Cross, but Bliss was able to turn the match with a single Twisted Bliss to take the titles.

Elias defeated King Corbin by pinfall

Elias smashed a guitar over Corbin’s back before the opening bell rang, but Corbin fought back and was in a good position to win. While he was exploding at the official, Elias struck with a quick rollup to get the pinfall.
