The top two basketball recruits out of Georgia, Anthony Edwards and Isaac Okoro, faced off for the first time on the college court when No. 5 played Georgia in its 15th straight win.
Coach Bruce Pearl said the game, which was moved up six hours due to weather, would be Auburn’s biggest challenge yet, but the Tigers blew through Georgia without a problem.
Auburn got off to a slow start in the first half, but fought its way to a halftime lead. When it came out in the second half, it went on an 18-4 run to build a 20 point lead. The Tigers were able to hold Edwards, who averages 18.7 points a game, to three points until they built a large lead. After that, Edwards scored 15 more, but it didn’t make a difference.
