When Eddie Murphy ventured once again into Studio 8H without precedent for three-and-a-half decades, he carried with him some exemplary characters from Mister Robinson to Velvet Jones.
Murphy’s first sketch in the Dec. 21 scene of “Saturday Night Live” was “Mr Robinson’s Neighborhood.” After such a large number of years away, he was all the while living in his equivalent condo in a rapidly improving neighborhood, on account of squatter’s privileges.
“I was away for a piece, however now I’m okay. My neighbors were all dark, yet now they’re white. The register liquidating place turned with a bank; lift works and the stairs smell. The white individuals came and made a huge difference, yet I am as yet your neighbor,” he sang.
He remarked on different things that have changed in the time he has been away from the crowd, for example, 23 And Me — “as a result of them, 23 individuals said their dad is me.”
