US President Donald Trump recommended dropping atomic bombs on storms before they made landfall in the United States, Axios gave an account of Sunday.
During a tropical storm preparation, Trump inquired as to whether it were conceivable to upset typhoons framing off the shore of Africa by dropping an atomic bomb in the eye of the tempest, the news site composed.
As per an unknown source, the news site said that gathering participants left the preparation figuring, “What do we do with this?”
Axios did not say when this discussion occurred.
It is supposedly not the first run through the president made such a recommendation. In 2017, Trump asked a senior authority whether the organization should bomb tropical storms to avert them making landfall.
Trump did not indicate in this discussion that atomic bombs be utilized.
The White House declined to remark, however Axios cited a senior organization official as saying Trump’s “goal isn’t awful.”
Trump’s thought isn’t new. The proposal was initially made by an administration researcher during the 1950s, under President Dwight Eisenhower.
